Book Talk 1
The memoir, "Wild," by Cheryl Strayed is a very entertaining and serious memoir about a woman who decides to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. This book is serious, emotional, and has depth.
This book is written in the first hand perspective of a woman who hikes the Pacific Crest Trail alone. As she hikes the trial, she shares personal stories and experiences that shaped her into the person she is today. My favorite part of the book was when the author finished the hike and began to recall everything she had experienced. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys nature, feminism, or the outdoors. This book is full of vivid descriptions of the nature Strayed encounters on the hike. "But no one laughed. No one would. The universe, I'd learned, was never, ever kidding. It would take whatever it wanted and it would never give it back." (strayed P. 209)
